A New Academy

The University of Western Manitoba has announced the creation of a doctoral program in labyrinthology. The program, expected to accept candidates in the fall of 2010, is anticipated to rival that of the renowned Alsdorf University in Germany, where Gollesten rose to labyrinthological fame while developing his Framework. Speculators are alleging Bernhard Smallencroft is in the running to chair the program.

Are you allowed to drink in a labyrinth?

I think it depends on the labyrinth.

Alcaholism is a labyrinth.

Alcahol? Your spelling is a labyrinth.

I'd be surprised if Smallencroft was offered such a position. First, he's tenured. Second, it is well known in labyrinthine circles that the reason he hasn't published a respectable comment in years is due to his numerous health issues. Why would Manitoba want such a problem?

I heard that Smallencroft was banging his research assistant... in his backyard hedge-labyrinth, of course.

Labyrinth sex? Are you allowed to do that?

PBRChugger: Let's not be lewd.

Labfan719: I agree that Smallencroft taking chair seems unlikely. Looking at the other faculty hires (Woyceskz, Proll, Mme. Lucier, Svoboda, and Novotný), we notice an decidedly anti-Continentalist, pro-Constructivist department emerging (much to my own personal chagrin). I doubt Smallencroft's onto-phenomenolabyrinthianism would play well.

I could see Crete as chair if the department is well funded. I know, for example, that Stephon has been trying to take a team to the Svanetia Mountain range for a while to to further investigate the procodic organization of its granite.
