Irony is a dish best served by the Bengals. The Business Courier reports that the troubled franchise recently presented the Cincinnati Park Board with a corporate check for $250,000 in support of an upcoming project on the riverfront. Here's the rub, the Courier reports that the project, among other things, will include a labyrinth.
The CLP was never contacted about a proposed labyrinth, nor have we heard from our colleagues in the industry regarding a labyrinth project on the riverfront. Having said that, we are somewhat dubious that the Park Board intends to build a real labyrinth. Nonetheless, the CLP will withhold official judgment on this development while we do some digging on the proposed project. Certainly readers, more to come.

You guys can kiss it. Bengals ain't going nowhere!
They're selling beer in the labyrinth, right?
Mike Brown's been doing his homework. No doubt this is a deliberate, though mediocre, attempt at quelling local labyrinth enthusiasts from signing our petition. What he does instead is cement the reality of the threat we pose to his institution.
Now more than ever we must press on, not just for labyrinths,
but for Cincinnati!
Gosh, how peculiar. One can't help but see a correlation here. Fascinating.

$250K: That's how much Ocho Stinko makes for every pass he doesn't complete.
Excellent reporting, Mark. Terribly ironic indeed. I can't help but think that this may be the equivalent of an "October surprise;" a last ditch effort on the part of the Bengals and Mike Brown to stifle the ever-growing voice of the CLP contingent.
What they don't seem to grasp is that we Cincinnatians want to sell the Bengals and, in effect, replace them with a labyrinth, not watch as they haphazardly fund the construction of a labyrinth of their own.
Great coverage, Mark. Thanks for breaking the news.
It appears that the Bengals conduct business just like they conduct plays on the field.
We need to reclaim the stadium to show our fellow Cincinnatians that we actually value their hard-earned tax dollars.
Actually...Cincinnati Parks announced last February that a labyrinth WILL be built in the city’s new Cincinnati Riverfront Park. The labyrinth itself is a gift from the Barr Family Foundation, established by Barbara and Roderick Barr of Indian Hill. Cincinnati Riverfront Park’s labyrinth is currently in the design phase, with concept drawings being developed by Sasaki Associates, the park’s design team. So yes, a labyrinth is DEFINITELY coming to downtown Cincinnati at Cincinnati Riverfront Park! Exciting!!!
